Alaska Hit by 5.4 Magnitude Quake

Alaska was hit by a 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Anchorage today. according to LA Times as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported. However, the temblor did not cause any injuries or major damage, according to officials in the city, Alaska's largest.

According to USGS, quake hit at 11:28 a.m. local time. The epicenter was about 60 miles northwest of Anchorage.

Jenniffer Collins, a spokeswoman for the Anchorage Fire Department, "It was a good one," He She further told, "Oh, yeah, we definitely felt it. It shook and then it subsided a bit and then it shook again."

Furthermore, Collins said the fire department has not received calls related to the earthquake. Also, Hendrik Van Hemert, a spokesman for the mayor's office, said the city had no reports of major damage.

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center spokeswoman said, The earthquake was felt as far away as Fairbanks. I hope no one was hurt during the quake and no properties have been damaged.
